Kohinoor Group to invest Rs 300 crore in 2 logistics parks in Maharashtra

MUMBAI: Pune-based real estate developer, Kohinoor Development Corporation (KDC) proposes to invest Rs 300 crore in setting up two logistics parks in Maharashtra.

"We are setting up two logistics parks in Chakan and Ranjangaon in Maharashtra. The Rs 600 crore projects will be funded through 50:50 JV and we will invest around Rs 300 crore in the said project," KDC Joint Managing Director Vineet Goyal told reporters here.

These two logistics parks are spread over 100 acres of land with 2 million square feet warehousing facility for auto ancillary units. The Chakan unit will be ready by 2018 and Ranjangaon by 2020, Goyal said.

Kohinoor Group-Pune is looking at expanding across business segments of residential, commercial, retail and hospitality sectors, he said.

The group has developed and promoted over 4 million square feet projects in the residential and commercial segments across strategic locations especially in the PCMC area in Maharashtra.

The projects are Tinsel Town in Hinjewadi, Falcon in Sus, Grandeur in Ravet, High Points Value in Model Colony, Shangrilla & B-Zone in Pimpri, Saheel s Calysta in Wakad, Saheel Fortune Park in Moshi, Shubhyog in Shirwal, Kohinoor Towerin Pimpri and Kohinoor Abiman in Samatane Phata in Pune.

Kohinoor Group is now planning to enter into Thane, Nagpur and Nashik in Maharashtra for residential as well as commercial projects. It is also looking commencing project at Rajkot in Gujarat, where it has already acquired 25 acres of land, Goyal added.

UK experts begin work on smart city solutions in Pune

PUNE: A team led by urban planners from the UK has started work on a master plan for Pune's smart city project. The team will survey Aundh, Baner and Balewadi areas and identify area specific smart city solutions.

Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) officials are supporting the team which also has experts from Bengaluru. Some projects that will be studied are related to slum redevelopment, traffic management and public transport.

"The team has been in the city for the last few days, and its members are making ground visits to collect data and finalize the plan about smart solutions," deputy municipal commissioner Vikas Kanade said.

The civic body has teamed up with Future Cities of Catapult Team based in the UK. From its London urban innovation centre, Catapult Team accelerates urban ideas to market, improve economy and make cities better.

They bring together the UK's top architects, engineers, designers, academics and business professionals. Their work currently focuses on promoting healthy cities, building resilience in urban infrastructure and designing strategies to help cities with finance to use smarter technologies.

A delegation led by municipal commissioner Kunal Kumar had visited London in March to study the tie-ups. The team had visited the traffic control room for the transport system in London and checked the intelligent water pipe monitoring solutions, solid waste management, street lighting, disaster management systems and water supply schemes.
